If you don’t already use Divi or any of the other Elegant Themes WordPress templates, I suggest giving Divi a try! Divi makes it ridiculously simple to create stunning websites and blogs. It is also one of the few blogging tools that I use on a daily basis (this site was built using Divi).

Elegant Themes, the company behind Divi, recently announced the launch of their newest product – Divi Cloud.
Divi is easily one of the most popular and standout WordPress themes around, powering over 2.2 million active websites to date and offering more than 800 premade layouts.
Divi is already a go-to choice for people looking to build new WordPress websites or upgrade existing ones. The roll out of Divi Cloud, a new cloud storage product, is intended to give users even more bang for their buck.
Will the availability of the Divi Cloud further justify the Divi theme popularity? What exactly is this Divi Cloud, and why should you care?
If you are a current Divi customer or someone who is planning to use the theme, you will likely be interested in hearing more about Divi Cloud and what it means for users.
What is Divi Cloud?
Divi Cloud is an online cloud storage solution for your Divi layouts and other website-building content. Divi Cloud is pretty much like Google Drive or Dropbox, but it is specifically aimed at storing all your Divi website elements, including rows, modules, page layouts, and sections. You can store, organize and access all your Divi Builder assets from any Divi-themed website that you are working on

Why is Divi Cloud a Big Deal?
Before the launch of Divi Cloud, Divi users would usually have to store their elements and content locally within the Divi Library housed on their website. This often made transferring such assets between websites time-consuming and messy. The availability of Divi Cloud means you can access those assets at any stage of the website design process, and all that is needed are a few clicks of a mouse.
Divi Cloud is particularly helpful to website owners who are creating multiple Divi sites and want a simple and portable way to store and manage all the different elements they are using. In addition, it can save plenty of money and time because you now have a storage source that lets you use the same builder elements over and over again across multiple websites.
Divi Cloud Features
Some of the most notable Divi Cloud features you are bound to find interesting include:
- Content management by way of folders, categories, and tags
- Search, sort, filter, and favorite functions that make it easy to locate your saved items
- Lives inside the Visual Builder for easy access
- Accessible to any and all websites you are building with the Divi theme
- Automatic screenshots for stored layouts
- Unlimited storage (with a Divi Cloud premium membership)
- In-browser authentication using Elegant Themes username and password
My Experience Using Divi Cloud
I purchased Divi Cloud the very first day it was released, so obviously I was quite excited to try it out!
The timing was perfect, in that I was in the process of creating several new websites in Divi (I had previously created Blogging Guide, my primary income producing website, and my personal website, Casey Botticello, using Divi). Divi Cloud made the process of creating a new site (or reusing modules/layouts between existing sites, extremely easy!
Some of the features I really liked:
Unlimited Storage. As anyone who builds website or is involved in graphic design knows, finding proper storage for all your files can be a major issue. I’ve already uploaded a ton of content to Divi Cloud, and the process was very straightforward.
Unlimited Websites. The main reason I started using Divi was because it allowed me to make stylish custom websites without complex coding. In other words, Divi encouraged me to create more. Similar to the Divi Theme being available for unlimited sites for a one time purchase, Divi Cloud allows users to connect files between an unlimited amount of websites. This played a major role in my recent effort to build 15+ new sites!
Compatible with Global Blocks/Custom Formatting. Divi Cloud works well with the existing Divi architecture. You can choose to save sections or layouts in your local library and/or save them to the cloor increased portability. This includes global blocks, which retain their structure when saved to Divi Cloud, but are designed so that they revert to specific formatting when moved from one site to another.
While I feel like Divi Cloud was a fantastic purchase, there are still some bugs that Divi needs to workout, such as:
Making Switching Between Sites & Remaining Logged in Easier. Divi Cloud is a bit clunky when it comes to switching from one site to another. Oftentimes, you will need to log in multiple times to Divi Cloud to access your files.
Slow Loading Time for Previews. Divi Cloud is a bit slow when it comes isplaying the visual previews of saved sections or layouts. This is not a deal breaker, but given that Divi is advertising the ability of users to search visually for content, this feature needs to be improved.
Benefits of Using Divi Cloud
Divi Cloud allows you to quickly and easily organize all your Divi Builder layouts, so you can find them at a glance when required.
Not only can you organize items via categories and tags, you can easily rename, delete, restore, duplicate, and favorite (“heart”) your stored resources.
In addition, Divi Cloud automatically screenshots all saved layouts and stores them as thumbnails so it is much easier to visually browse through and locate your assets.
2. Increased Accessibility
Items saved to your local Divi library can only be used for the associated Divi website. If you plan to use those same items to create other websites, you will have to go through the process of uploading them each time.
If you want to share layouts with collaborators, you will have to consider emailing files, which can cause all kinds of problems.
With Divi Cloud, you upload once and then anyone with access to the account can use your web building resources from anywhere, at any time, for all your new and existing Divi websites.
On top of that, you can also access your local Divi Builder files (only in your Divi Library) from within Divi Cloud.
3. Faster Website Building Turnaround Time
If you are into the business of building multiple Divi websites, having to look for and upload Divi Builder elements each time can be very time-consuming.
If you are working with a team, then you know sharing files back and forth between each member can result in costly mistakes.
Since all the assets you will reuse are accessible on Divi Cloud, you and your team will have constant access, leading to more speed and efficiency in designing and launching your websites.
Divi Cloud Features
Divi Cloud is simple to use and understand, but there are a few things you may want to know in order to get the best results. The first thing to note is that there are several ways to add Divi elements to the Cloud:
- Direct upload: To directly import items to the Divi Cloud, you can simply drag and drop your JSON files into the Divi Builder. An “import” window will appear giving you the option to save to the Divi Cloud. You can either import individual elements or do bulk upload by importing JSON files that contain multiple layouts.
- Saving items using the Visual Builder: While using the Visual Builder, you can save any element you are working with such as sections, rows, modules, etc. to the Divi Cloud. Simply right click on the asset and the option for “Save to Divi Cloud” will appear. The resulting window will allow you to save the item with a name, as well as assign a category and/or tag.
- Syncing your local library with the Divi Cloud: Once you are signed into the Divi Builder, you can access the Divi Library by clicking on the purple icon found at the base of the screen. Next, click on the “Your Saved Layouts” tab, which will show all items that are saved locally or already on Divi Cloud. For layouts that have not yet been synced to the Divi Cloud, you can add them by simply hovering with your mouse and then clicking on the gray cloud icon that shows up. The cloud icon will turn to blue to show that it is now synced to the Divi Cloud.
When you are ready to access items in your Divi Cloud, here are the steps:
- From the Visual Builder, open the Layouts window by clicking on the purple icon at the left side of the screen
- Click on the “Sign In To Divi Cloud” button that appears and enter your Elegant Themes username and password
- Click on the “Your Saved Layouts” tab. The list will include the items saved to your Divi Cloud, as well as the contents in your local Divi Library that you are using to work on your current website.
- To see only the elements saved in your Divi Cloud, select the “My Divi Cloud” checkbox.
- Browse through the list to find the saved items you want to use, or use the dropdowns and checkboxes to narrow the results. You may also type in the name of the asset in the search field and click on “Filter.”
Divi Cloud Pricing
As it stands, Divi Cloud is free to use by anyone who is using the Divi Theme. This free option is limited to 50 items stored on Divi Cloud.
If you are a freelancer or agency who runs several WordPress websites using Divi, you will find that this cloud storage size is simply inadequate. In that case, you will need to sign up for a Divi Cloud paid membership.
What do you get with a Divi Cloud membership? Well, you get everything unlimited. This means unlimited storage, which allows you to save unlimited numbers of items, and you can use Divi Cloud for an unlimited number of websites. All of that is available for one price – $8 per month, or $96 annually.
However, Elegant Themes is currently running a Divi Cloud launch promotion which sees membership being discounted to $6.40 per month (for a total of $76.80 annually). That amount can be discounted by a further 25% if you decide to buy an annual subscription, which will work out to $57.60 for the year ($4.80 per month).
It might seem like a no-brainer to get the annual subscription as it is the cheapest plan, but there are a few things to keep in mind. First, the monthly membership is billed per month and can be canceled at any time.
With the annual membership, you pay the full amount upfront and it is renewed at the end of the year. Of course, you can try out Divi Cloud for as long as you want using the free option until you are ready to sign up for a paid membership.
Divi Cloud Upcoming Features
At the moment, Divi Cloud only allows you to save certain Divi elements that you need to build your websites. But Elegant Themes has made it known that users can expect the cloud storage solution to accommodate a lot more going forward. These include:
- Theme builder templates
- Custom theme settings and Divi Builder settings
- Divi cloud libraries
- Plugins and Divi child themes
- Website exports
- Custom fonts and pre-made color palettes
- Code Snippets
- Divi design presets
- Third-party integrations
Conclusion
Divi Cloud is promising to be a useful cloud storage solution that saves time and improves efficiency when building websites with the Divi WordPress theme. However, much of the features of a Divi Cloud membership are probably only necessary for people who are building or managing multiple Divi websites.
